Shepherd Bags ™ Ministry
As we began to travel around the world preaching the good news of Jesus Christ to those who
have never heard the Gospel at the beginning of EIM's ministry, the countless faces of the
children in those countries began to tug at our hearts and a desire was born to touch their lives in some meaningful way. The concept of the "Gallon Bag" filled with useful items was taken from Scripture where David kept his stones in a bag that he used to kill Goliath with. David, then a "Shepherd" boy kept them in a "Bag" The Shepherds Bag™ Ministry got its name & EIM began a ministry that since its beginning has exploded and accomplished more than we ever dreamed.
Since the beginning of the Shepherds Bag™ Ministry, EIM has sent several hundred thousand bags to needy children all over the world. Bags have been sent to the countries of Romania, Ghana, Honduras, the Philippines, & Cape Verde as well as a local Spanish mission. Countless stories have been told of the smiles and tears on the faces of the children as they received their bag as well as getting to experience it firsthand as we handed them out. Only in Heaven will we know the impact that the Shepherds Bag™ Ministry has had on the lives of children around the world.
Many have asked how they as individuals, churches or organizations can help. There are a variety of ways. Here are just a few:
- Purchase items on the Shepherd Bags™ listlist and then assemble the bags together as a group/individual. (This is a great way for adults/children to take a "hands on" approach in missions work.) Then send the bags directly to our E.I.M. Warehouse in Warren for shipping.
- Churches/organizations/individuals can "adopt" the Shepherd Bags™ Ministry and become a Ministry Assembly Station. You would purchase items and assemble bags on a year-around basis & send to us for shipping. There are not a mandatory number of bags you have to make & ship or a schedule you must follow in order to become a station. You decide how often and how many.
- Donate large quantities of individual items on the list and send to the E.I.M. Warehouse in Warren for us to assemble.
- Place containers at your church or organization for those wishing to donate items on a year-around basis.
- Individuals/churches/organizations can send a love offering designating it for Shepherd Bags™ and we then purchase the items & assemble the bags here at the Warehouse.
- Make witness bracelets to hand out to the adults that gather when we're handing out Shepherd Bags™. Color order is: Yellow, black, red, white, green, & blue. Information for wholesale prices for beads and cord & instructions for bracelet assembly can be obtained by emailing or calling the office.(870-226-3626 or fnorris@eimworldwide.org) Keep witness bracelet separate from the Shepherd Bag™ for easy access for distribution.
Any boxes sent to our offices should be sent to the following address:

Most bags come from WMA's, GMA's, VBS programs & outreach programs from churches and individuals. After assembling them, they then ship them directly to the offices of EIM or take them to a location to be picked up. EIM collects items for the Shepherd Bags™ at our warehouse and we have work groups that come and assemble the bags. We box them at our warehouse and then take them to be loaded on the container to be shipped. One of the greatest blessings we have is when children & their parents show up at the office and the children want to donate toys to make bags.
We have a Shepherd Bags™ list that you can download with specific instructions to follow to make bags. You can also call us at (870) 226-3626 or email fnorris@eimworldwide.org and we can e-mail or mail you a copy. It's a great way to teach the concept of missions to children and a ministry tool for little "missionary" hands to lovingly bless another child across the world. We do ask, however, that you read the special instructions & notice what is not appropriate to send. Liquids (shampoo/conditioner/lotion/glue), pins, sewing kits, batteries, scary toys, toy soldiers, breakable items, hard candy/chocolate, chapstick/gluestick, etc. are not appropriate. Before reaching their intended destination, the bags will go through extreme temperatures and much handling. The above items can damage bags and be dangerous to children.
You may also purchase Shepherd Bags™ from our online store.
One of the main things that we’d like for churches and individuals to understand about the Shepherd Bags Ministry is that this ministry is a full time, year around ministry. We put bags together as long as we have items in stock all year long.
May God richly bless you for wanting to touch the lives of children!
