E. I. M. Bible Ministry

Have you considered the importance of “The Word” of God? Jesus told us in John 20:30,31, “many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book: but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name.” We have the Word so that we may believe in Him. But, there are millions of people in so many countries who do not have access to His Word. The Bible ministry of E. I. M. was begun in 1997 so that people in other less-developed countries might have access to the divine truths of His eternal Word. The Apostle Paul told us that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” One of the most important things that we at E. I. M. do is the provision of God’s word to people who cannot afford to purchase a copy. You can purchase Bibles from our online store.

Our Director of Bible Distribution is Jim Sayers. He was a pastor of Baptist Churches for almost fifty years, and in 1996 he took a trip to Africa to help begin a school for preachers in Ghana, West Africa. Almost everywhere he went on that trip he was asked to “please send us Bibles.” After returning back to the United States he began asking people to donate used and new Bibles to send to Africa. Soon he had sent approx. 20,000 copies of the Word to people there. Then, people began to give money. Churches gave; individuals, civic organizations, and others, and the ministry continued. Then, in 1998 he began sending Bibles through E.I.M. to several countries. In 2006 Bro. Sayers resigned his pastorate, and began working with this ministry as Director of Bible Distribution.

Through our combined ministries we have now provided almost 354,000 copies of God’s Word to people in many countries in several different languages. This is an on-going work! Our goal is to place God’s Word in as many hands as is possible, and our prayer is that these people will read His Word, and confess their sins in repentance, and trust Jesus Christ as their Savior. As I attempt to give you an overview of our work in Bible distribution, I am made to realize that I do not have the vocabulary to tell you what is truly in my heart. This ministry was begun more than ten years ago with a prayer and the hope that a few hundred Bibles could be sent to African people who could not afford to purchase this eternal Book of God! My, how we limit our great God with our small thoughts so much of the time.

Through the years He has shown us how to think differently. We are learning that He can do “exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think.” I have stopped asking God for “a few hundred Bibles” long ago. He has shown all of us at E. I. M. that if we will trust Him completely, He will bless His work. This past year has been no exception.

May I remind you that one of the reasons that God continues to bless this ministry is that I made Him a promise when this began that I would never take one cent from what is given for expenses. This is a ministry for Him, and His glory. May God eternally bless you and your church for sharing His Word with unfortunate people around the world who are unable to buy their own copy. Thousands have been saved because of your generosity. The International Bible Society recently completed a survey of giving Bibles to people in poor countries. They determined that when we give one person a Bible, at least five more people will read it. This is reason enough for us to give – liberally.
